Following a visit with the Jets, former Giants quarterback Russell Wilson is reportedly considering leaving football to work in television. Russell Wilson is at a crossroads in his legendary career. The 37-year-old Super Bowl champion recently visited the New York Jets, but according to a new report, he's also seriously considering a future in the broadcast booth.

The nine-time Pro Bowler has had extensive discussions with CBS about joining "The NFL Today" pregame show, per The Athletic. If Wilson decides to hang up his cleats, the network is considered the frontrunner to bring his football IQ to television—a natural next step for one of the game's most recognizable faces.

Wilson's resume speaks for itself. After a memorable 10-year run with the Seattle Seahawks—including a dominant Super Bowl XLVIII victory at MetLife Stadium in 2014—he went on to play for the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers before spending last season with the New York Giants. His 14 NFL seasons and championship pedigree all but guarantee a gold jacket in Canton someday.

Interestingly, Wilson isn't a complete newcomer to broadcasting. While playing for the Giants last season, he called a game for CBS, giving fans a glimpse of his potential behind the mic. He'd be replacing Matt Ryan, who left the network to become the president of football operations for the Atlanta Falcons.

And if he makes the leap, he wouldn't be the first in his household to step into the spotlight—his wife, Grammy-winning singer Ciara, knows a thing or two about performing for an audience.

Of course, the football chapter isn't closed yet. Wilson also met with the Jets about potentially playing another season in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Whether he suits up one more time or trades the helmet for a headset, all eyes are on what's next for the future Hall of Famer.
