The recruiting trail is heating up for Florida State, and the Seminoles are set to welcome a promising young talent to Tallahassee this summer. 2027 three-star running back Tai Phillips has officially locked in his multi-day official visit with FSU, scheduled for June 5-7. This will mark his first trip to the program, and it comes on the heels of a scholarship offer from the Seminoles just last weekend.

Phillips, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound back out of Cape Fear High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina, is coming off a standout junior season. He rushed for 919 yards and 12 touchdowns, topping the 100-yard mark in four games. That followed an impressive sophomore campaign where he posted 880 yards and 11 scores. For his senior year, Phillips has transferred to Irmo High School in Columbia, South Carolina, where he'll look to build on his already strong resume.

The competition for Phillips is fierce. He's drawn offers from powerhouse programs including Alabama, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, and NC State, among others. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Phillips is rated as the nation's No. 842 overall prospect and the No. 63 running back in his class. In South Carolina, he's considered the No. 17 recruit overall.

For Florida State fans, this visit represents a key opportunity to make a strong impression on a versatile back who could bring explosive playmaking to the Seminoles' backfield. With official visit season kicking off at the end of May and running through June, Phillips is just one of many high-priority targets FSU hopes to host in the coming weeks.
