Imagine running 200 marathons in just 204 days—while living with multiple sclerosis. That's exactly what Megan Boxall accomplished, and she did it faster than any woman before her.

The 33-year-old financial journalist from Thorpeness, Suffolk, set out on an extraordinary journey last October, starting from Sizewell beach. Her mission: to run the entire 5,240-mile coastline of Britain. From Clacton to Blackpool, Dundee to Newcastle, she pounded the pavement through every corner of England, Scotland, and Wales.

On a triumphant Saturday morning, Boxall completed her blister-inducing feat exactly where she started—on Sizewell beach. She crossed the finish line not just with a world record, but with £57,000 raised for the Samaritans charity along the way.

"It's been the most incredible morning. I cannot really believe I've done it—I've become the fastest woman to run the coastline of Britain," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "It feels so nice to be back home in Suffolk. I'm quite overwhelmed, but I'm feeling good. It was phenomenal, and I loved it."

Boxall's achievement is even more remarkable considering she shattered Elise Downing's 2016 record by 97 days. She took on this grueling challenge just one year after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis—a disease that can eventually become debilitating. For her, this run was about celebrating Britain while raising awareness for Samaritans, the organization that supported her mental health after her diagnosis.

Her running journey began simply enough—jogging with her dog Shadow. But it was her uncle's walk around Britain's coastline that planted the seed for this epic adventure. Despite the physical and mental hurdles, Boxall chose to focus on the positive.

"Obviously, it has been hard, but it has been absolutely amazing," she reflected. "The weather in the winter was really tough, and there were some big chunks that were incredibly windy, cold, and lonely. But that's all forgotten now. This has shown the importance of positivity and how much good can come from seeing the best in people and the world."

For anyone who's ever laced up their running shoes and wondered what's possible, Boxall's journey is a powerful reminder: the human spirit, when fueled by determination and a positive mindset, can achieve the extraordinary.
