The draft is about to get rolling in Pittsburgh, and most of the top prospects are in the city already. The prospects are making the rounds, speaking with media from each team, and fans are desperately searching for clues on who their team will draft.

The Washington Commanders have the No. 7 pick, and it's important the team makes the most of that pick if they want to contend again in 2026. 2025 was a bad season, but the hope is that the disappointing season was mostly a result of injuries. Still, adding a couple immediate-impact players in this draft will help greatly.

Two of the players that spoke with Washington media are edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. and Sonny Styles. Bain is one of the top edge rushers this class, while Styles is widely thought of as the top off-ball linebacker. Both players would fit in well with the Commanders, and both had positive experiences with the team in the predraft process.

"The biggest thing that stands out when you walk in the building is just great energy, great people," said Styles. "When you go in that building, everyone is drive. Everyone's obsessed with getting to the highest point in the league."

It's cool to know that players still get a positive impression when being around the Commanders. It would be easy for the vibes to be poor after a disappointing season, but it doesn't seem like that's the case.

"(Dan Quinn) is a worker," said Bain. "I got to see that firsthand. Really had a good time with him, spoke some good football."

It will be interesting to see if either Bain or Styles end up being the pick at No. 7. Styles has typically gone off the board before No. 7 in mocks, so Bain may be the more likely pick. The team is also expected to be interested in a wide receiver or running back Jeremiyah Love.

Bain racked up 20.5 sacks over three seasons in college and helped lead Miami to the title game in 2025. Styles, meanwhile, began his career as a safety before switching to linebacker and racking up 182 tackles and seven sacks over two years at the position.
