Ronda Rousey rips into ‘chauvinistic pig’ ruining UFC: ‘Keep trying to fail upwards, motherf–ker!’

Ronda Rousey has never been one to hold her tongue, and her latest verbal takedown has nothing to do with an opponent in the cage. The former UFC bantamweight champion is setting her sights on Hunter Campbell, the UFC's Chief Business Officer, and she's not pulling any punches.

Speaking ahead of her highly anticipated return bout against Gina Carano on Netflix this May 16th, Rousey didn't mince words when describing Campbell's impact on the UFC. "This guy does not have a job because he's good at it," she said. "He has a job because he is Dana and Lorenzo's lawyer's son." She went on to call him a "chauvinistic pig" who has been "ruining" the sport she helped build.

While Dana White has stepped back from day-to-day negotiations, Campbell has taken the reins—and according to Rousey, that's been a disaster for fighters and fans alike. She describes a promotion that has become stale and corporate, stripped of the soul that once made it electric. "We are glorified bum fights to this guy," she said, recalling a dismissive meeting that lit a fire under her.

But Rousey isn't just complaining—she's plotting. After her fight with Carano, she hinted at a possible future as the face of MVP MMA, a role she never imagined for herself. "I could be the most powerful figure in the sport since Dana," she said. "That's insane. That's a goal I never would have thought to have had if I had done nothing but win."

Her vision? Giving fighters their power back. Rousey pointed to her work on California's fighters' pension fund, which sets aside a dollar from every ticket sale for retired athletes in the state. Small moves like that, she argues, could transform combat sports for the better.

"Keep trying to fail upwards, motherf–ker!" she fired off at Campbell, making it clear that her next fight might just be for the soul of the sport itself. Whether she's in the cage or at the negotiating table, Ronda Rousey is ready to throw down.
