Ryan Friedkin has arrived at Trigoria with a packed agenda, and among the pressing matters is the future of several Roma players whose contracts are set to expire. This situation has caught the attention of Gian Piero Gasperini, who is particularly focused on retaining key members of the squad while avoiding a major overhaul.

Four contract renewals are currently on the table: Paulo Dybala, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Zeki Celik, and Stephan El Shaarawy. The first three appear to have the strongest chances of extending their stays, albeit under revised terms. Both Dybala and Pellegrini, the Giallorossi's number 7, are reportedly willing to accept significant pay cuts to remain in the capital.

However, the outlook for El Shaarawy is far less optimistic. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, his tenure at Roma is hanging by a thread, and Il Messaggero has all but dismissed the possibility of a contract extension. The 32-year-old winger, who wears the number 92 shirt, has struggled for game time this season, logging just 1,002 minutes across all competitions. His contributions have been minimal, with only one goal and three assists to his name.

It has been a challenging campaign for El Shaarawy, and the upcoming derby against Lazio could mark his final appearance at the Stadio Olimpico in a Roma shirt. As the club looks to reshape its roster, the once-promising forward appears to be heading for the exit, leaving fans to reflect on a tenure that never quite reached its full potential.
