Roma's summer transfer plans are already heating up, even as uncertainty swirls around the club's front office. Director Frederic Massara finds himself on thin ice following Claudio Ranieri's dismissal, and while the outcome of this season's wide-open UEFA Champions League will be pivotal for the club's direction, the work for the summer window isn't slowing down, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Roma's scouting network is actively identifying players who can fit the next manager's system, regardless of who ultimately leads the sporting department. Scouts were recently spotted at BayArena, taking in the Bundesliga clash between Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig—a match that showcased some of the league's most exciting young talent.

One name on Roma's radar is Norwegian winger Antonio Nusa, who has been turning heads in Germany. The 19-year-old has tallied 5 goals and 4 assists in 33 appearances this season, his second in the Bundesliga after breaking out at Club Brugge. Nusa also made headlines by helping Norway eliminate Italy from the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, and he's already scored 7 goals in 22 appearances for his national team. However, competition for his signature is fierce, and his price tag is significant—making this a potential blockbuster move if Roma can pull it off.

Manager Gian Piero Gasperini has been clamoring for a speedster to add to his attack, especially after the club's attempts to address that need fell through this season. That's where Nusa's explosive pace and dribbling ability would come in handy. But Roma are also casting a wide net across Europe. In midfield, they're monitoring Xaver Schlager, who could depart on a free transfer and has already been linked to Juventus. On the defensive side, the Giallorossi are keeping tabs on Fenerbahce's Jayden Oosterwolde, a versatile player who can slot in at multiple roles in the backline and on the left flank. Oosterwolde moved to Turkey in 2023 after bursting onto the scene at Twente and impressing during a strong season with Parma in Serie B.

Beyond replacing any players they might lose due to Financial Fair Play constraints, Roma's top priority this summer is clear: an electrifying winger should be their first order of business and largest investment. The club has been making it work with different types of attackers, but adding someone with Ademola Lookman-like characteristics—blistering speed, creativity, and a knack for scoring—would massively lift their offense. For a team looking to compete on multiple fronts, that kind of spark could be the difference-maker.
