Roma are back on the hunt for a new striker this summer, and they've just revived their interest in a familiar target. With Artem Dovbyk looking likely to leave and Evan Ferguson returning to Brighton after his loan spell, the Giallorossi are under pressure to bolster their attack.

According to TMW, Gianluca Scamacca has emerged as a top candidate. The Roman-born striker has been in red-hot form under Gian Piero Gasperini, playing a key role in Atalanta's Europa League triumph last season. His chemistry with the manager is well-known, and his style of play could be a perfect fit for Roma's needs.

What makes Scamacca especially appealing is his potential partnership with Donyell Malen. The two could form a dangerous two-man attack, giving Roma a dynamic and physical frontline. The club has reportedly already made initial contact with the player's camp.

However, there's a catch. Atalanta invested around €30 million to sign Scamacca three years ago, and with just one year left on his contract (plus an option to extend), this summer might be the last chance for a big-money sale. The Bergamo club is reportedly holding out for a fee between €30 and €35 million.

For Roma, it's a high-stakes game. If they can secure Scamacca, they'd be adding a proven Serie A goalscorer with a point to prove. But with competition likely from other clubs, the clock is ticking for the Giallorossi to make their move.
