Roma’s dream of funding the next transfer window with Champions League revenue appears to be fading.
Despite Gasperini’s words, who continues to hold out hope for qualification, the current standings don’t offer much hope.
The reality is that Roma finds itself in the same situation as in recent years, with a budget that doesn’t allow for major spending without the financial support of European competition.
Gasperini reiterated the urgency of ensuring an adequate transfer market for the team’s future.
As La Repubblica reports, his main request is to retain the core of the squad. To do so, however, requires spending, especially to strengthen certain key positions.
The price is set at €25 million, but fortunately, it will be paid in installments, which could ease the immediate pressure on the budget.
However, to cover this expense, Roma will need to rely on other revenues, such as transfers.
Another potential source of income for the transfer market comes from loans, with several players potentially sold or redeemed by other teams.
These include Salah Eddine, Baldanzi, Shomurodov, and Saud. PSV has shown interest in Salah Eddine and could buy him for €8 million. Baldanzi, who is finding consistency at Genoa, is highly regarded by De Rossi and could bring in €10 million. Shomurodov, with an obligation to buy from Basaksehir, could generate an additional €2.7 million. Finally, Saud, who could remain at Lens, would bring in another €4 million for Roma.
