Rangers boss Danny Rohl is gearing up for a blockbuster Premiership clash against league leaders Hearts at Tynecastle this Monday night—and he’s leaving nothing to chance. With the title race heating up, Rohl knows his team must bring their A-game from the first whistle to the last.
"We need 100% to take the points," Rohl declared in his pre-match press conference. "We can’t play at 95% or for just 45 minutes. Every decision—on and off the ball—has to be spot on."
Expect fireworks in Gorgie. Rohl anticipates a red-hot atmosphere, with Hearts chasing something "historical" and their manager Derek McInnes ready to go "all-in." But Rangers are prepared to match that intensity. "We’ll be ready to fight," Rohl promised.
The key battleground? Those 50-50 duels that define big away games. "We have to ask for the ball, be active, smart, and organized," the manager emphasized. One thing he won’t tolerate is giving away "stupid fouls" in dangerous areas. "That’s just gifting opportunities to a team like Hearts," he warned.
With only four games left in the season—what Rohl calls "four finals"—the Ibrox boss is banking on his squad’s resilience. After a gut-wrenching loss to Motherwell last Sunday, he praised the team’s "outstanding spirit" in training. "They’ve bounced back the right way," he said.
One player earning special praise is striker Yousef Chermiti, who Rohl calls a "role model of our development from October until now." After a tough spell in autumn, Chermiti has transformed into a key man. "Nobody says he should be on the bench anymore. He’s outstanding in training—a big, big character," Rohl beamed.
Injury news is cautiously positive. Tuur Rommens is back in training after his first session, though his availability for Monday remains a "let’s see." Ryan Naderi has also resumed training and could feature.
On the thorny issue of Rangers fans potentially being locked out of Celtic Park, Rohl kept it simple: "Every game should have supporters from both sides. All I can do is cross my fingers and hope."
With Tynecastle set to be on fire, Monday night promises to be a defining moment in the title race. Will Rangers rise to the occasion? Kickoff can’t come soon enough.
