At the official groundbreaking ceremony for the state-of-the-art venue in Brook Park, Goodell shared his optimism about the possibility of bringing the NFL's biggest event to the shores of Lake Erie.

"I have no doubt that this stadium is going to be Super Bowl quality. Zero doubt about that," Goodell said confidently. However, he was quick to note that a successful Super Bowl bid requires more than just a world-class stadium. "The challenge now for this community is how the rest of the facilities develop. We don't just have 72,000 or 75,000 people coming to the Super Bowl—it's close to 200,000 people that come in."

This means Cleveland will need to invest heavily in its infrastructure, particularly in hotels and transportation. Goodell pointed out that the city currently has only about half of the roughly 40 to 50 hotels needed to accommodate the massive influx of visitors. On a positive note, the Haslam Sports Group is already planning two hotels as part of the stadium development, and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport—located just across the street—began a $1 billion renovation last fall.

Goodell also confirmed discussions with the Haslam family about bringing the NFL Draft back to Cleveland in the near future, adding another potential highlight for the city's sports calendar. While a Super Bowl remains a long-term goal, these developments signal that the Browns and their community are taking the right steps to turn that dream into a game-day reality.
