River Plate coach Eduardo Coudet talked to the press and addressed a question suggesting that Real Madrid’s Franco Mastantuono could make his return to his lifelong club on a loan deal. Coudet also shared his thoughts on why this has been a tough season for the young play maker.
“We look forward to it [his return] with arms wide open. It’s a different football here. I don’t think it’s a lack of adaptation. When he was with me, he performed at a high level. He faces fierce internal competition with players with similar profiled who have been there for a long time, such as Brahim Díaz or Arda Güler, and he is only 18 years old. River makes you lose track of everything. I always want the best for young people,” he said.
It seems clear that Mastantuono will leave the club on a loan deal next summer. However, River Plate would seem a long shot as Real Madrid would want the player to keep developing in European football.
