Texas A&M's recruiting machine is heating up, and the Aggies are making big moves to build a powerhouse secondary for the future. Head coach Mike Elko and cornerbacks coach Bryant Gross-Armiento have a packed summer schedule, hosting a wave of top 2027 defensive backs—including several four- and five-star prospects. But one under-the-radar talent is already locking in his visit to College Station.
On Tuesday, three-star defensive back Loia Valade announced he'll take an official visit to Texas A&M from June 12-14. That weekend promises to be a major recruiting event, giving Elko and Gross-Armiento a prime opportunity to strengthen their bond with the versatile defender. Valade's work ethic and ability to play multiple positions make him a perfect fit for the Aggies' evolving defensive scheme.
Valade holds over 20 scholarship offers, including five from SEC programs. He received his A&M offer on May 1, and scheduling an official visit so quickly is a strong sign of mutual interest. He's also planning trips to Florida and Auburn, so the Aggies will need to make a lasting impression.
Early in his high school career, Valade played both ways—safety, cornerback, and wide receiver—making him a true five-tool prospect. At 5'11", he's sometimes overlooked because of his size, but he plays with relentless physicality. Last year, he ran a verified 4.43 40-yard dash, showing elite speed that translates well to the college game.
Originally from Tennessee, Valade transferred to Boca Raton (FL) this offseason to compete on a bigger stage. That move is expected to boost his recruiting profile even further as the process heats up. With his combination of speed, versatility, and toughness, Valade is a name to watch as the Aggies look to lock down their secondary of the future.
