Rick Barnes and the Tennessee Vols earned a massive win over a college basketball blueblood on Sunday morning. The Volunteers have had a very productive offseason after coming up one game short of the Final Four.

Rick Barnes and the Tennessee Vols earned a huge win over a college basketball blueblood on Sunday morning.

VCU transfer guard Terrence Hill Jr announced his commitment to Tennessee on Sunday.

The decision from Hill comes after he visited the Kansas Jayhawks earlier this week.

Hill, 6-foot-3/180 pounds from Portland, OR, averaged 15 points per game as a sophomore at VCU this past season. He scored a career high 34 points in VCU’s overtime win against the North Carolina Tar Heels in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament last month (Hill played 40 minutes in that game).

The talented guard has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

The addition of Hill gives the Vols a dependable three-point threat.

"Hill is an elite 3-point shooter and it's arguably his greatest strength," wrote 247Sports' Michael Swain of the VCU transfer. "He shot 37% from 3 on incredibly high volume. He can both create his own shot from deep and knock down shots off the catch. Roughly 25% of his 3-point attempts were unassisted."

Hill joins Loyola transfer center Miles Rubin, Belmont transfer guard Tyler Lundblade, Notre Dame transfer forward Jalen Haralson, and Cal transfer guard Dai Dai Ames as portal additions for the Volunteers so far this offseason.
