It's the end of an era at Anfield. Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool legend who has terrorized Premier League defenses for years, is set to leave the club this summer. Originally contracted until 2027 on his hefty £400k-per-week wages, the 33-year-old has reportedly agreed to cut his stay short by a year, paving the way for a new chapter in his career.

This season hasn't been kind to Salah. A public fallout with manager Arne Slot, coupled with a noticeable dip in form compared to his title-winning heroics in 2024/25, has made his departure feel inevitable. The Egyptian King is now heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia or MLS, leaving Liverpool with a massive void to fill on the right flank.

Enter Richard Hughes, Liverpool's sporting director, who is already scouring the market for a dynamic, one-on-one winger to replace the irreplaceable. While big-name targets like Bradley Barcola and Yan Diomande have been linked, the Reds might be eyeing a more opportunistic, budget-friendly option.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool is preparing a £39 million (€45 million) bid for Barcelona's Roony Bardghji. The 20-year-old Sweden international made a surprising move to Camp Nou from Copenhagen last summer for just €2.5 million, and he's quickly proven his worth as a reliable squad player, especially during Lamine Yamal's injury absence.

Bardghji is a left-footed right winger who thrives in tight spaces. He loves to receive the ball to his feet, drive inside, and either unleash a shot or slide a clever pass through the lines. His playing style has drawn comparisons to Riyad Mahrez and Hakim Ziyech—high praise for a player still finding his feet at the top level.

However, with Yamal firmly established as Barcelona's future star on the right, Bardghji's path to becoming a first-choice starter in Catalonia is blocked. Liverpool sees this as the perfect opportunity to pounce. The report suggests the Reds want to finalize the deal before the World Cup, signaling their urgency to secure a long-term successor for Salah.

Bardghji's contract in Spain runs until 2030, and Barcelona holds the cards thanks to a sell-on clause from his previous club. But for a player who cost next to nothing and has already shown flashes of brilliance, a £39 million bid could be too tempting for the La Liga champions-elect to turn down.
