Round 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft is set to kick off, and NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the San Francisco 49ers are already receiving calls from teams interested in moving up to No. 33. And Pelissero adds the New Orleans Saints are among those callers, along with the Miami Dolphins (No. 43), the Cleveland Browns (No. 39), and the Jacksonville Jaguars (No. 56). New Orleans picks at No. 42 and their surplus of mid-round picks in Rounds 4 and 5 could give them an edge over their competition.
As for who they're targeting? Look no further than the prospects remaining in the green room. That group includes Ohio State nose tackle Kayden McDonald, expected to go "in the first five to ten picks of Round 2." Tennessee cornerback Colton Hood is another potential trade target, as is his college teammate Jermod McCoy, who fell out of Round 1 due to injury concerns after missing the entire 2025 season with a surgically repaired knee. Washington Huskies wide receiver Denzel Boston is another name to watch, and Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck is the next passer up on some teams' radar.
With a quarter of the NFL having not drafted a single player yet, trade talks could pick up quickly on Friday night. Six of the last seven picks in Round 1 were dealt on Thursday as teams maneuvered up and down the board. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis is known for always doing his diligence in seeing what it would cost to make a move. Don't be shocked if he pulls the trigger on a deal to go get his guy.
