The Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens, two of the AFC's most formidable franchises, are reportedly eyeing reinforcements at wide receiver—and they might not have to look far. According to a recent report from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, both teams are considered prime landing spots for a pair of multi-time Pro Bowl pass-catchers still available in free agency.
The 2025 season was an uncharacteristic struggle for both clubs. The Chiefs, long the NFL's gold standard, stumbled through a losing campaign, while the Ravens—usually playoff staples—also fell short of expectations. Injuries and inconsistent play derailed their Super Bowl aspirations. But with offseason adjustments already underway, both teams believe they're on the path back to contention in 2026.
Still, one glaring need remains: wide receiver depth. Enter veterans like Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, and Tyreek Hill—all proven playmakers who remain unsigned. "You've got Keenan Allen, you've got Stefon Diggs, you've got Tyreek Hill, and you have a lot of teams that need help," Fowler said on ESPN's SportsCenter. "The Kansas City Chiefs are a little thin at receiver. The Baltimore Ravens are a little thin, too."
Hill, an eight-time Pro Bowler, was part of the Miami Dolphins' offseason overhaul. After a 2024 season that saw him dip below 1,000 receiving yards for the first time, he played just four games in 2025 before tearing his ACL. Diggs, meanwhile, bounced back as the No. 1 target for the AFC champion New England Patriots, posting 1,013 yards. He also suffered a torn ACL—though that was two years ago—and has developed a reputation for on- and off-field drama.
Both Hill and Diggs are in their 30s, and their polarizing personalities have kept them on the market longer than expected. But for the Chiefs, a reunion with Hill is especially intriguing. He earned six of his eight Pro Bowl selections during his time in Kansas City, where he became one of the league's most electrifying receivers.
With training camps on the horizon, the rumor mill is heating up. Could a familiar face be heading back to Arrowhead—or making a new home in Baltimore? Either way, the AFC arms race just got more interesting.
