Big news out of Knoxville: Wake Forest standout Juke Harris is taking his talents to Tennessee. The sophomore guard announced on Monday that he's withdrawing from the 2026 NBA draft and transferring to the Volunteers for the 2026-27 season.
Harris is coming off a breakout year that earned him ACC Most Improved Player honors. He lit up the stat sheet with averages of 21.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per game, while shooting 44.4% from the field. His 750 total points ranked sixth nationally, and he was one of just six players in the country to average at least 21 points and six boards.
That scoring output was historic for Wake Forest—only program legend Len Chappell (932 points) has ever scored more in a single season. Chappell's number hangs in the rafters, so Harris is in elite company.
The 6-foot-7 guard was one of 73 prospects invited to the NBA Draft Combine, set for May 10-17 in Chicago. It's unclear if he'll still participate or if he's already fully focused on joining coach Rick Barnes in Knoxville. Harris was projected as a possible late first-round pick after his dramatic leap from 6.1 points per game as a freshman to over 21 as a sophomore—the biggest scoring improvement in the nation.
Now considered one of the top transfers available, Harris gives Tennessee a major boost. The Vols are already shaping up as NCAA Tournament contenders, and adding a player of his caliber only strengthens their case for another deep March run.
