Inter Milan boss Cristian Chivu is reportedly eager to tie star midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu down to a new long-term contract.

According to Sky Sport Italia via FCInter1908, the 45-year-old coach views the Turkish star as a key part of his midfield.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future at San Siro, Hakan Calhanoglu continues to carry Inter forward.

Indeed, the 32-year-old playmaker delivered a match-winning performance in yesterday’s 3-2 Coppa Italia win over Como.

In addition to scoring a brace to put the Nerazzurri back on level terms, he set up Petar Sucic for the winning goal.
