Inter Milan are reportedly considering a blockbuster move for Manchester City's Phil Foden as their dream of signing Nico Paz fades away. Italian journalist Paolo Condò has floated the England international's name as a surprising alternative for the Nerazzurri's creative midfield needs.
The Serie A giants have long eyed Como's Nico Paz as their ideal playmaker—someone who can beat defenders and unlock stubborn backlines. But Real Madrid's buy-back clause on the Argentine star complicates matters. Even if they trigger it, there's no guarantee they'd let him leave again, leaving Inter scrambling for options.
Enter Phil Foden. Speaking on Sky Sport 24, Condò suggested the 24-year-old might be open to a fresh challenge. "He's had less playing time at City this year, perhaps due to some off-field issues," Condò noted. "With a serious, interesting proposal, he could be tempted by an Italian adventure."
Foden's contract runs until June 2027, giving him just over a year left. While his talent is undeniable—he's a Premier League and Champions League winner—Condò admitted the odds of him swapping the Premier League for Serie A remain slim. It would be a marquee signing, but a long shot.
Meanwhile, Paulo Dybala's name also surfaced as a potential target, with his Roma contract expiring next month. Condò quickly shot that down. "No, Inter need someone who guarantees something over time," he said. "Dybala offers no certainty for the years ahead."
For now, Inter's pursuit of a creative spark continues, with Foden as a dazzling—if unlikely—dream.
