Fabio Grosso's remarkable resurgence as a coach has turned him into one of the hottest names in Italian football, with top Serie A clubs like Fiorentina, Napoli, Lazio, and Bologna reportedly eyeing his services.

The 48-year-old, forever etched in football history for his pivotal role in Italy's 2006 World Cup triumph, has seamlessly transitioned from iconic player to tactical mastermind. Since hanging up his boots in 2012, Grosso has honed his craft across multiple clubs, including Juventus's youth academy, Bari, Verona, Brescia, Frosinone, and even a stint at French side Olympique Lyonnais.

His current chapter at Sassuolo has been nothing short of impressive. After taking over in 2024, Grosso propelled the club to promotion from Serie B with five games to spare, and this season, he's guided them to a comfortable mid-table position—no small feat for a newly-promoted side. With 14 wins, seven draws, and 14 defeats in Serie A, Sassuolo has proven they belong among Italy's elite.

According to Sport Mediaset, Grosso's stock has soared, making him a prime target for several clubs. Fiorentina leads the chase, thanks in part to his strong ties with director Fabio Paratici from their time at Juventus. With current coach Paolo Vanoli expected to leave after steadying the ship, Grosso could be the perfect fit to take the Viola to the next level.

Bologna is also in the mix, should Vincenzo Italiano decide to move on, while Napoli and Lazio have reportedly added Grosso to their shortlists as potential alternatives to Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri, respectively. Whether he stays at Sassuolo or takes a new challenge, Grosso's coaching journey is proving that his legendary playing career was just the beginning.
