Marc Guiu appears ready to pack his bags this summer, with the young Chelsea striker reportedly seeking a return to Spain on loan after a frustrating spell at Stamford Bridge.

The 20-year-old arrived from Barcelona for €6m in the summer of 2024, but things haven't gone as planned. While he managed six goals in 16 appearances across all competitions last season—all coming in the Conference League—his path to regular first-team action has been anything but smooth.

After a loan move to Sunderland last summer was cut short when Liam Delap picked up a hamstring injury, Guiu has found himself watching from the sidelines more often than not. He didn't feature in the Premier League between December and a brief cameo in last month's 3-0 defeat to Brighton, and was left out of the squad entirely for the FA Cup semi-final last weekend. In fact, he's only been involved in two of Chelsea's last 19 games.

The arrival of Emmanuel Emegha from Strasbourg, combined with Nicolas Jackson's return from his loan at Bayern Munich, has pushed Guiu even further down the pecking order. It's clear he won't get the regular minutes he needs at Chelsea next season.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Guiu is pushing for a loan move back to Spain, where he could rediscover his form in familiar surroundings. However, Chelsea reportedly believe a spell at another Premier League club would be more beneficial for his development, giving him the chance to prove his potential in English football.

For a player who once lit up Barcelona's youth ranks, this is a crucial crossroads. Whether he ends up back in La Liga or stays in the Premier League, one thing is certain: Marc Guiu needs game time, and he needs it now.
