In the competitive world of high school football, few stories capture the spirit of determination quite like Reign St. Clair's journey. The sophomore quarterback, who recently transferred to Upper Arlington, isn't just looking to fill a role—he's aiming to build a legacy of his own.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 220 pounds, St. Clair brings an impressive resume from his time at Bellefontaine, where he threw for nearly 2,000 yards last season. But he's not alone in the quarterback room. He's locked in a spirited battle with classmate Charlie Hunt for the starting job, a competition that both players embrace with open arms.

"Competition is great. Iron sharpens iron," Hunt said, showing the kind of sportsmanship that makes high school athletics special. Hunt, who spent last season as the backup and even played safety, brings his own strengths to the table—athleticism, arm strength, and a sharp understanding of the offense.

For St. Clair, the move to Upper Arlington was about more than just a change of scenery. "Being competitive, getting into a bigger school, bigger area, and playing better competition—making myself better for the future," he explained. And he's putting in the work, attending elite camps like Elite 11 and Rivals, with an Under Armour Next camp on the horizon.

It's worth noting that Reign isn't the only St. Clair making waves in Ohio football. His brother, Tavien St. Clair, plays for Ohio State University. But Reign is focused on carving out his own path, already holding offers from Eastern Kentucky and South Florida. Last season, he completed 64.2% of his passes for 1,999 yards and 10 touchdowns, leading an offense that relied heavily on the passing game. He even handled punting duties, averaging nearly 32 yards per boot.

Upper Arlington head coach Justin Buttermore sees the potential in both quarterbacks, noting they complement each other well. "They are good at different things," he said. "That's just part of it in high school. You don't recruit to the style you run. You deal with the kids in your program."

With the season approaching, the Golden Bears have a promising dilemma on their hands—two talented quarterbacks ready to lead. For Reign St. Clair, the goal is simple: get his name out there and prove he's more than just a famous last name.
