Big things are happening on the Gulf Coast, and North Bay Haven’s Reese Warren is leading the charge. The senior sensation, recently crowned Bay County Volleyball Player of the Year, has officially signed to play for the University of Southern Mississippi—a major milestone that caps off a truly standout high school career.

Warren didn’t just dominate; she defined the game. During her senior season, she racked up an impressive 363 kills, 233 digs, and 22 blocks, anchoring the Lady Buccaneers on both offense and defense. Her all-around versatility made her a nightmare for opponents and a cornerstone for her team.

At the signing ceremony, North Bay Haven head coach Emersonn Cabatu couldn’t hold back his praise, highlighting Warren’s unique blend of skill and smarts. “Her smarts and how she plays is just out of this world,” Cabatu said. “There are many times that she just comes up to me and goes, ‘Hey coach, have you maybe thought about this?’ Most of the time, it’s actually a pretty good idea.”

Cabatu emphasized Warren’s team-first mentality and relentless drive to improve every single day. “She’s the type that just wants to go out there and prove and show what she is on the court every single day,” he added.

In a memorable comparison, Cabatu likened Warren’s style to boxing legend Muhammad Ali. “You float like a butterfly, but sting like a bee,” he said. “Every single time I see you, your head and shoulders above that court, and you’re picking out exactly where you want to sting that other team.”
