The Boston Red Sox have revealed the diagnosis and expected return timeline for top prospect Roman Anthony, who exited Monday's game early after injuring his hand on a swing during the first inning.

Manager Chad Tracy announced Tuesday that Anthony has been diagnosed with a wrist sprain. While the team initially feared a more serious injury, the news brings a sense of relief to Red Sox Nation. For now, Anthony is considered "day-to-day" and will not be placed on the injured list—though Tracy noted the team will monitor him closely over the next few days before making any final decisions.

"We'll see how he responds over the next 48 hours," Tracy said. "It's possible he could still need a short IL stint, but right now we're optimistic he can avoid that and be back on the field soon."
