Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms out there! Today, we're diving into some exciting recruiting news that has Husky fans buzzing.
Why Washington? A New Commit Speaks Out
We recently caught up with three-star offensive lineman Reis Russell, who just committed to the University of Washington. Hailing from Valor Christian High School in Colorado, Russell chose the Huskies over football powerhouses like Miami, USC, Oregon, and Georgia. So, what made UW stand out?
"This staff is really what it came down to," Russell explained. "My relationships within the staff are awesome. I love them all, and it feels like a big family up there."
Now that his commitment is locked in, Russell has his sights set on one thing: "The main focus now is getting that state ring! The boys are so fired up for this season and excited to win it all!"
And he's not stopping there. Russell is already playing the role of recruiter, targeting key 2027 offensive line prospects. "I'm after a few. Getting Gecova, Lincoln, and DaJohn is going to be huge. I was at the junior day with them, and we had a great time together."
Russell is a massive addition for the Huskies in the 2027 class and looks poised to make an early impact on the field.
Huskies Eyeing Another Texas Star
Speaking of massive pieces, Washington is making a serious push into Texas for one of the top wide receivers in the 2027 class. Four-star wideout Tre Moore from Pflugerville High School has narrowed his recruitment down to three finalists: Miami, Ohio State, and Washington.
The Huskies have been in hot pursuit of Moore for quite some time, and the momentum is building. He's scheduled to take his final official visit to UW on June 19th. While it won't be an easy battle, insiders suggest the Huskies are in a stronger position than many realize. Moore, who racked up 85 receptions for 1,443 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior, is definitely a prospect to keep a close eye on.
That's all for now. And don't forget to give a big thank you to all the moms out there for everything they do!
