Warren Central's Wallace cuts list to five and upcoming official visits for IU from two local standouts, more.

Warren Central wide receiver Zechariah Wallace is making big moves in his recruiting journey. After a standout season where he hauled in 42 receptions for 728 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Warriors, Wallace has trimmed his list of potential college destinations down to five: Chattanooga, Illinois State, North Dakota State, Stony Brook, and Western Michigan.

The talented pass-catcher has already lined up a busy schedule of official visits. He'll head to Illinois State on May 10-11, followed by Western Michigan from May 29-31, then Stony Brook on June 12-13, and finally North Dakota State from June 16-18. A visit to Chattanooga is expected to be scheduled later. Notably, Illinois State already has a commitment from one of Indiana's top 2027 quarterbacks, Brownsburg's Oscar Frye, which could make that an intriguing option for Wallace.

Here's a look at five more key developments in local football recruiting:

Sean Fox hits the road
Wallace's Warren Central teammate, linebacker Sean Fox, is taking his first official visit of the spring this weekend—to Georgia. Fox is ranked as a four-star prospect by 247Sports and is considered the No. 3 recruit in the state for the 2027 class. The Bulldogs extended an offer to Fox about six weeks ago, and this visit could be a major step in his recruitment.

Noblesville duo eyes Indiana
Two offensive linemen from Noblesville are set to take official visits to Indiana this weekend. Caleb Johnson, rated as the No. 2 in-state prospect in the class by 247Sports (behind Lawrence North receiver Monshun Sales), will kick off his visit schedule with the Hoosiers. He also has plans to visit Michigan State (May 29-31), Iowa (June 5-7), and Missouri (June 12-14). Meanwhile, Mason McDermott—ranked No. 7 in the state—visited Northwestern last weekend and has a June trip to UCLA lined up.

Errol Kerns' recruitment explodes
Lawrence Central defensive back Errol Kerns has seen his stock soar in recent weeks, even after committing to Miami of Ohio. In just the past six days, Kerns has added offers from Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Northwestern, Purdue, and Texas A&M, along with an offer from Indiana on Thursday. He now has official visits set for Texas A&M (May 28-30) and Michigan (June 12-14), signaling that his recruitment is far from settled.

Westfield's Nicholas Schurman on the rise
Westfield offensive lineman Nicholas Schurman continues to generate buzz, adding to the depth of talent coming out of Indiana in this recruiting cycle. Keep an eye on his upcoming visits and offers as the spring unfolds.
