Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has addressed the future of Vinicius Jr., offering clarity on the Brazilian star's contract situation just one day after calling for unexpected early elections at the club. In a revealing interview on La Sexta alongside journalist Josep Pedrerol, Perez touched on several sensitive topics, including the performances and hierarchy of the team's two biggest stars: Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius.

When asked directly about both players, Perez didn't hold back. "Mbappe? He's the best player at Real Madrid right now; he's been awarded the Golden Boot," the president stated, placing the Frenchman above Vinicius in the current pecking order. "Vinicius? I think he's one of the great players this club has."

Perez went on to praise Mbappe's adaptation to life in Madrid, while hinting there's still room for improvement. "Mbappe is the one who scores the most goals. There's something we need to improve on, but I'm not going to get into that. How many goals has he scored this year? His job is to score lots of goals. I think he has understood what Real Madrid is all about."

In a surprising admission, Perez revealed a hands-off approach to his relationship with the French superstar. "I haven't spoken to Mbappe since he's been here; if I see him at training, I say hello," he added.

The conversation then shifted to Vinicius and the growing speculation surrounding his contract renewal. While Perez attempted to distance himself from the negotiations, his comments made it clear the Brazilian remains highly valued. "But I'm not the one renewing his contract. To me, Vinicius seems like one of the great players Madrid has. He won the last two Champions League finals for us."

As for the timeline, Perez offered a relaxed stance. "There's no rush. He's under contract, and we're happy with him. These things take time, but we're confident everything will work out."

For Real Madrid fans, the message is clear: both Mbappe and Vinicius are central to the club's future, but patience is key when it comes to contract talks. In the meantime, the focus remains on the pitch, where these two global stars are expected to lead Los Blancos into a new era of dominance.
