Real Madrid are gearing up for a summer of change, with several players expected to depart the Bernabeu. While some may find new homes in the Premier League, one of their key midfielders has made his intentions clear.

Aurelien Tchouameni has emerged as a target for both Manchester United and Liverpool, according to reports. The French international has enjoyed one of his strongest individual seasons despite Real Madrid's collective struggles, and his performances have not gone unnoticed across the Channel.

Manchester United have been tracking the 24-year-old for some time, and now Liverpool have joined the chase. Both Premier League giants are hopeful that Real Madrid might make Tchouameni available in the upcoming transfer window, hoping to capitalize on the club's need to reshape their squad.

However, there's a significant hurdle for the English sides. Tchouameni is prioritizing staying at Real Madrid for at least another season, and he would prefer to sign a new contract rather than move on. This loyalty to the Spanish giants makes any potential exit unlikely, much to the frustration of United and Liverpool's recruitment teams.

From a tactical perspective, keeping Tchouameni makes perfect sense for Real Madrid. While their midfield has faced challenges this season, pairing him with a creative playmaker in the Toni Kroos mold could restore the balance that powered them to La Liga and Champions League glory in 2023-24. It's a proven formula that worked wonders just a year ago.

Without encouragement from the player, it's improbable that either Manchester United or Liverpool will push forward with a formal bid. As things stand, expect Tchouameni to remain in the white of Real Madrid when the new season kicks off.
