Real Madrid has handed down hefty fines to midfielders Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni—€500,000 each (approximately $588,627 USD)—following a physical altercation at the club's training headquarters that left Valverde with a serious head injury.

Valverde later issued a public apology to the club, its fans, and his teammates, clarifying that while he did suffer an injury, the two players never actually came to blows.
