The Baltimore Ravens have a major roster issue heading into the offseason, and it's one that quarterback Lamar Jackson likely won't be thrilled about.
After losing three-time Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum in free agency, the Ravens were expected to find a replacement—either through a veteran signing or in the NFL Draft. But so far, neither has happened.
As offseason workouts begin, Baltimore still doesn't have a clear answer at center. If the season started today, Corey Bullock would be the starter. That's a big concern for a team with playoff aspirations.
CBS Sports' Tyler Sullivan highlighted the problem: "Baltimore saw Pro Bowler Tyler Linderbaum leave in free agency, and with no replacement coming by way of a veteran, most anticipated the team filling that hole at the draft. While GM Eric DeCosta noted that he did try to land a center at the draft, it never came to fruition. Now, the Ravens will need to scour the remnants of the free agent market or look for a trade to fill that need."
It's hard to believe the franchise will be comfortable heading into training camp with the current depth chart. Of course, Bullock could prove himself during offseason workouts, and players like Jovaughn Gwyn and Danny Pinter might step up. But relying on an inexperienced center isn't ideal for Lamar Jackson as he tries to lead this team back to the postseason.
For a team with Super Bowl ambitions, having a question mark at such a critical position is far from ideal. The Ravens still have time to find a solution, but the clock is ticking.
