Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Roger Rosengarten is stepping up with a clear mission for the 2026 season: elevate the standard of pass protection and keep superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson upright.
Under new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle, the Ravens are prioritizing a cleaner pocket. Rosengarten, entering his third NFL season, knows the stakes are high. Last season, Ravens quarterbacks were sacked 45 times—a glaring weakness that former coordinator Todd Monken (now head coach of the Cleveland Browns) failed to address. The result? Jackson took too many hits, and a lingering hamstring injury forced him to miss consecutive games in 2025, contributing to the team's late-season struggles.
But there's reason for optimism. The addition of guard Vega Ioane and the return of veteran tackle Ronnie Stanley should solidify the offensive line. Rosengarten, who impressed as a rookie in 2023-24 by battling elite pass rushers like T.J. Watt, Myles Garrett, and Will Anderson, is now a polished pro ready to anchor the right side.
This offseason, Rosengarten will sharpen his skills against newly acquired defensive stars Calais Campbell and Trey Hendrickson during minicamp and training camp. Meanwhile, offensive coordinator Doyle plans to use more 11-personnel packages, reducing five-step drop-backs in favor of quicker pass plays. This faster tempo should give the offensive line a steadier front and limit Jackson's exposure to pressure.
For Ravens fans, the message is clear: Rosengarten and the O-line are ready to raise the bar and protect their franchise quarterback in 2026.
