It’s that time of year again- full-on NFL Draft season. A mock draft is basically a quasi-crossword puzzle for football nerds

The NFL Draft is here, and for football fans, it's the ultimate puzzle. As a self-proclaimed draft nerd who's been crafting first-round mocks since 2010, there's no better time of year. The spotlight is particularly bright on the Baltimore Ravens, who briefly shook up the offseason with a trade that would have sent their first-round pick to Las Vegas for Maxx Crosby. That deal famously fell through, leaving the Ravens with their original selection and a critical decision to make.

With the draft just days away, let's dive into a full seven-round projection for Baltimore, focusing on a clear theme: rebuilding the trenches.

The popular and prudent choice here is to fortify the offensive line. With Tyler Linderbaum now in Las Vegas, the interior needs immediate reinforcement. Since centers rarely go in the first round, the focus shifts to guard—a position that has needed an upgrade. Securing a top-tier guard here would provide stability and power for Lamar Jackson and the rushing attack.

In the second round, the Ravens could look to add a dynamic edge presence. Illinois standout Gabe Jacas, the Big Ten's regular-season sack leader, carries a solid second-round grade. His former quarterback, Luke Altmyer, famously predicted Jacas would "make a lot of money in the NFL one day." That day could be next Friday. While his stats were impressive, they might have been even better with more aggressive scheming. Under defensive minds like Jesse Minter and Anthony Weaver, Jacas's high motor and potential could be fully unlocked in Baltimore.

The need for depth, talent, and youth along the defensive line is paramount. General Manager Eric DeCosta is undoubtedly scrutinizing every top prospect in this group. Finding a player like Texas A&M's McKinnley Jackson here would represent tremendous value. He's a powerful, disruptive force who would immediately bolster the defensive interior, though he'll need some refinement to become a complete every-down player. This pick would be a classic Ravens move: addressing a core need with a high-upside talent.
