Every MLB season brings its share of home runs, strikeouts, and... frequent flyer miles. For players and teams, travel is an unavoidable part of the game. Some clubs enjoy short hops between cities, while others log serious air time crossing the continent. The 2026 season travel rankings are in, and they reveal a clear advantage for teams with central geography.

According to Baseball Savant's travel analysis, the Seattle Mariners are once again the kings of the skies, set to fly a staggering 50,308 miles this season. That's nearly 2,000 miles more than the Athletics, who remain based in Sacramento as they await their move to Las Vegas. It's no surprise that West Coast teams dominate the top of the list—long flights to East Coast cities add up fast.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Pittsburgh Pirates will travel the fewest miles in baseball this season. Their home in the NL Central, alongside Milwaukee, Chicago, and St. Louis, keeps most road trips compact and manageable. The Cardinals, Cubs, and Brewers follow closely, all benefiting from central locations that minimize coast-to-coast travel.

Last season, the Dodgers proved that heavy travel doesn't have to derail a championship run. They led MLB in miles flown and still brought home the World Series trophy. The Mariners, who have never reached the Fall Classic, will be hoping to follow that same flight path to glory in 2026.

Here's how all 30 MLB teams rank by miles flown this season, from the most jet-lagged to the most well-rested:
