In one of the most surprising moves during the first round of the NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams selected quarterback Ty Simpson. The Rams, of course, have a knack for stealing headlines and they also lay claim to another blockbuster move from earlier this offseason in their trade for corner Trent McDuffie.
There will be plenty of time in the coming days to evaluate what Simpson brings to Los Angeles and how the team will stick the landing from Matthew Stafford to the next era.

Simpson enters the league with sparkling mechanics and a smooth release; there's a lot of tools to work with and build upon.Lacking in some elite physical gifts, but as he progresses from talented one-year starter he'll be allowed to develop in peace with a great staff.
It could be seen as good news for the other teams in the NFC West that the Rams' pick at No. 13 overall will do nothing to improve the team in 2026.
