It's official: for the first time since leaving for Las Vegas, the Raiders will return to the Bay Area this season.

After five seasons away, the Silver and Black are finally coming home—sort of.

The Las Vegas Raiders, who left Oakland after the 2019 season, will make their first return to the Bay Area this year. It's been a long wait for fans who remember the team's final game in the Coliseum. Since then, not even a preseason contest has been played in their old stomping grounds.

The big moment comes courtesy of a scheduled away game against the San Francisco 49ers. For a while, there was a chance that matchup might be shipped to Mexico City as part of the NFL's international series. But on Wednesday, the league confirmed that the 49ers' Mexico City opponent will be the Minnesota Vikings—clearing the way for the Raiders' Bay Area homecoming.

This isn't just a regular road trip. For many Raiders fans, it's a chance to see their team in person without a flight to Vegas. There had even been whispers about the team moving training camp back to Napa, but that hasn't materialized—at least not yet.

The full schedule drops Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Pacific, so we'll soon know exactly when the Raiders will step back onto Bay Area turf. Whether you're repping the black and silver in Levi's Stadium or just excited to see the rivalry renewed, this is one game you won't want to miss.
