The Las Vegas Raiders are building a Hoosier pipeline, and the latest addition is wide receiver Jonathan Brady. Following the signing of quarterback Fernando Mendoza and fellow undrafted free agents Roman Hemby and E.J. Williams Jr., Brady becomes the fourth former Indiana standout to join the Silver and Black this offseason.
Brady brings a versatile skill set to the Raiders' receiving corps. After beginning his college career at New Mexico State and California, he transferred to Indiana for the 2025 season, where he hauled in 14 receptions for 115 yards and three touchdowns. But it's his explosiveness in the return game that really stands out—Brady averaged 16.5 yards per punt return and even took one back for a touchdown, showcasing the kind of playmaking ability that can flip field position in an instant.
To make room on the roster, the Raiders placed wide receiver Justin Shorter on injured reserve. Shorter, who appeared in 17 games over the past two seasons, was primarily a special teams contributor. This move opens the door for Brady to compete for a role in both the offense and return game during training camp.
For Raiders fans, this signing signals a continued investment in young, hungry talent with college chemistry already in place. As the team builds depth at wide receiver, Brady's ability to contribute on special teams could be his ticket to making the final 53-man roster.
