The Las Vegas Raiders are making headlines again, and this time it's all about a potential game-changing addition to their receiving corps. With a pressing need for proven talent at wide receiver, the Raiders have been named a top landing spot for Stefon Diggs—a familiar face to quarterback Kirk Cousins.
According to CBS Sports' Zachary Pereles, who suggested one free-agent signing for every NFL team, Diggs is the ideal fit for Las Vegas. "Diggs showed last year he can still really play, even if his snap share was way down," Pereles noted. "A talented separator who snatches the ball with hands like glue, Diggs would really help a Raiders wide receiver group bereft of his skill set and bereft of experience."
Diggs and Cousins share a productive history from their time together with the Minnesota Vikings from 2018 to 2019. During those two seasons, Diggs posted back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns, proving he can thrive with Cousins under center. With Cousins expected to start for the Raiders, reuniting the duo could inject immediate chemistry into the offense.
The Raiders' current wide receiver room is thin on proven firepower. While the addition of Jalen Nailor was a solid move, he's yet to prove himself beyond a No. 3 role. Tre Tucker fits a similar profile, and second-year wideouts Jack Bech and Dont'e Thornton failed to make an impact in 2025. Diggs would instantly slot in as the No. 1 target, pushing everyone else into positions better suited to their strengths.
However, there's a significant hurdle: Diggs' legal troubles. In February, he pleaded not guilty to felony strangulation and other charges stemming from an alleged dispute with his personal chef. Released by the New England Patriots earlier this offseason, Diggs could face league discipline depending on the outcome of his case. That uncertainty may give teams pause, but for a Raiders squad desperate for a playmaker, the potential reward might outweigh the risk.
