LOS ANGELES -- The Sparks officially brought back another player.

The Los Angeles Sparks are locking in a key piece of their core, officially announcing the re-signing of wing Rae Burrell. This move solidifies the roster with a young, dynamic player who has grown up in the Sparks' system.

Selected 9th overall by Los Angeles in the 2022 WNBA Draft, Burrell's journey has been one of resilience. A foot injury derailed most of her rookie season, and she fought her way back onto the roster via hardship contracts in 2023. That perseverance has paid off, as she has now become a permanent fixture in LA.

Burrell is coming off a career year, averaging 7.5 points and 2.3 rebounds in 18 minutes per game across 28 appearances. Her potential truly flashed in the second half of the season, capped by a career-best 20-point performance against the Phoenix Mercury. She has further showcased her explosive scoring ability in the offseason Unrivaled league, including a dominant 30-point game, proving she's ready for a larger role.

"Rae is a modern, versatile wing who has the ability to impact the game on both ends," said Sparks General Manager Raegan Pebley. "Her energy, enthusiasm and positivity impact our team every day... making her an important part of our future in Los Angeles."

For Sparks fans, Burrell's return signals a commitment to developing homegrown talent. Her athleticism and improving offensive game make her a perfect fit for the fast-paced style of play, and she's poised to be a major contributor as the team builds toward contention.
