Racing Louisville's owners, Soccer Holdings, are looking for an investor interested in purchasing a stake in the club, ESPN first reported May 12.

Racing Louisville FC is making moves off the pitch that could shape its future on it. The club's ownership group, Soccer Holdings, is reportedly exploring the sale of a minority stake to an outside investor, according to a May 12 report from ESPN. This news comes as the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) continues its rapid expansion, pushing teams to secure the resources needed to stay competitive.

ESPN's report, citing sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, suggests that Soccer Holdings is seeking additional investment to bolster Racing's standing in a league where growth is accelerating. The club's recent run includes a historic first-ever playoff appearance and a young, dynamic roster that just toppled the league's top team. It's a moment of momentum—and the owners want to capitalize on it.

A Racing spokesperson clarified to The Courier Journal that no equity partner is currently lined up. If an investor is approved, Soccer Holdings would retain its controlling interest and keep the team in Louisville. "As the NWSL experiences unprecedented growth, Soccer Holdings is constantly evaluating strategic opportunities to ensure Racing Louisville has the resources to compete at the highest level," club officials said in a statement.

The statement also highlighted the team's on-field success: "We're coming off the club's first-ever trip to the playoffs and have assembled a competitive young roster that just last weekend knocked off the league's first-place team. We believe in Racing's future and invite our community to join us at Lynn Family Stadium in support of Louisville's only top-tier professional team."

Sources added that NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman is aware of the potential partial sale. The league has not yet commented on the matter. For now, Racing fans can expect their club to stay put—and possibly get a financial boost that keeps the purple-and-white charging forward.
