Still a youngster at 26 years of age, Quillan Salkilld does not want to waste any time in his Ultimate Fighting Championship career.

At just 26 years old, Quillan Salkilld is making it crystal clear that he's not here to take the scenic route in the UFC. With a blistering 12-1 record and a finish rate of 75%, this Australian lightweight is on a mission to fast-track his way to the top of the division.

Heading into UFC Perth as the co-main event favorite, Salkilld faced his toughest test yet in veteran Beneil Dariush (23-8-1). The fight didn't start according to plan—Dariush dropped the local hero early in the first round and controlled him against the cage. But Salkilld's composure never wavered. Showing textbook takedown defense and patience, he waited for his moment, created separation, and unleashed a vicious combo followed by ground-and-pound to finish the job.

"That's just part of my personality," Salkilld said in his post-fight interview. "When s--t hits the fan, I don't really stress too much. I stay calm in every situation. When it doesn't go well, I'm all good. When it goes well, I don't get too ahead of myself."

That calm demeanor has paid off handsomely. Since his promotional debut last year, Salkilld has earned four performance bonuses in five wins. And get this—he's on a twelve-fight win streak, with his only professional loss coming all the way back in his 2021 debut.

Now, the lightweight prospect has his sights set much higher. He's not interested in easing into the rankings—he wants to sprint through them. "I'm not looking to take my time, I'm looking to jump in headfirst," Salkilld declared. "Speedrunning this s--t, that's what I'm looking to do. Hopefully they give me another big opportunity, another big name, brighter moment, hopefully a main event next, that would be wicked."

With a top-10 ranked opponent in his crosshairs and a potential main event slot on his wish list, Salkilld's message to the lightweight division is loud and clear: "None of these lightweights are doing it like me."

For fans of the sport, this is the kind of fearless ambition that makes the lightweight division one of the most exciting in all of MMA. And for those looking to rep the next big thing, Salkilld's journey is just getting started.
