After a journey that took him from the NFL to the XFL and back again, quarterback P.J. Walker has officially called it a career. The Calgary Stampeders of the CFL announced the news on Thursday, with Walker's agent confirming his retirement to 3DownNation.com.

Walker's path to professional football was anything but ordinary. After going undrafted out of Temple University in 2017, he signed with the Indianapolis Colts, spending three seasons on their practice squad before making a splash in the XFL during the 2020 season. That standout performance earned him another shot in the NFL, this time with the Carolina Panthers, where he made his first career start that same year.

Over three seasons in Carolina, Walker started seven games, showcasing the grit and determination that defined his playing style. He later joined the Cleveland Browns in 2023, making two starts. In total, he appeared in 21 NFL games, completing 185 of 339 passes for 2,135 yards, six touchdowns, and 16 interceptions.

After being released by the Seattle Seahawks in 2024, Walker headed north to the CFL, suiting up in 13 games for the Stampeders last season. Now, he's decided to hang up his cleats for good, leaving behind a legacy as a quarterback who never stopped fighting for his spot under center.
