Paris Saint-Germain have not been afforded a weekend off this time in between the two legs of their Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich, but they could instead take a big step towards clinching yet another Ligue 1 title.Lens will hope to keep the title race alive for at least another week, while behind them Lyon and Lille are in pole position to take the final two qualifying spots from Ligue 1 for next season's Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain may not have the luxury of a weekend off to rest between their Champions League semi-final legs against Bayern Munich, but they could use Saturday's Ligue 1 action to take a giant step toward securing yet another French title.

After Tuesday's breathtaking first leg—arguably one of the greatest Champions League matches ever—PSG hold a narrow 5-4 advantage heading into next Wednesday's return trip to the Allianz Arena. "I have never experienced a match of that intensity as a coach," admitted Luis Enrique, who will now lead his squad back to the scene of last season's final triumph over Inter Milan.

But first, there's business to handle at home against mid-table Lorient. Expect plenty of rotation from Enrique, even though the right results this weekend could effectively end the title race. PSG sit six points clear of challengers Lens with just four games remaining, and they also boast a massive 15-goal advantage in goal difference. Two wins from their last four matches should be enough—even if Lens win all of theirs.

A fifth straight Ligue 1 crown (and 12th in 14 years) would be all but secured Saturday if PSG beat Lorient and Lens lose away to Nice. That May 13 showdown between the two title rivals, controversially postponed from early April to give PSG extra rest during their Champions League quarterfinal against Liverpool, now looms as a potential coronation rather than a tense decider.

However, the Parisians have some injury concerns. Right-back Achraf Hakimi suffered a thigh injury late in the Bayern match that could sideline him for weeks. Backup goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier is also out, while striker Goncalo Ramos is suspended after last weekend's red card in a 3-0 win at Angers. Stars like Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and skipper Marquinhos are all expected to be rested against Lorient.

Behind the title race, the battle for Champions League qualification is heating up. Lyon and Lille are currently in pole position to claim the final two spots, while Lens will be desperate to keep the title race alive for at least another week. For PSG, though, this weekend is about taking another step toward domestic dominance before turning full attention to Bayern and European glory.
