Paris Saint-Germain have done it again. On Wednesday night, the capital club secured their 14th Ligue 1 title—and fifth in a row—with a commanding 2-0 victory over RC Lens. For manager Luis Enrique, this crown feels a little sweeter than the rest. With three seasons under his belt and three league titles to show for it, the Spaniard now boasts a perfect record at the helm.
Heading into the match, the writing was already on the wall. Luis Enrique had put the title at "99.9%" certainty, and for good reason: PSG held a six-point lead over Lens with only two games left, bolstered by a +15 goal difference. But while the final gap now sits at nine points, this season was anything but a walk in the park. Compare it to his first campaign, where PSG finished nine points clear of AS Monaco, or last year's 19-point margin over Olympique de Marseille. This time, Lens kept the pressure on until the penultimate gameweek, making the victory feel hard-earned.
"It is the most tasty of the three league titles that we have won," Luis Enrique told reporters, including Get French Football News. "Lens have done a great job. It was difficult for us." He also pointed to the challenges behind the scenes: a "strange season" marked by injuries and a short summer break that made squad management a constant battle. "We have had injuries, like the majority of teams, but we also had very little holiday last summer. It was hard to manage."
For PSG fans, this title is a testament to resilience—and a reminder that even in a dominant era, the journey matters as much as the destination.
