East Lansing's tennis dynasty continues to dominate, as the Trojans captured their fourth consecutive regional championship with a flawless performance on Wednesday. Winning titles at all eight flights, East Lansing racked up 32 points to easily outpace host Mason, which finished as runner-up with 20 points. Both teams now set their sights on the state finals in Midland on June 3-4.
The Trojans' singles lineup was unstoppable, with Maia Meghea (No. 1), Sonja Stokstad (No. 2), Eleanna Kimbouris (No. 3), and Sima Bezuglova (No. 4) each claiming flight titles. In doubles action, the pairs of Evie Laxton and Ani Meghea (No. 1), Stella Alfredson and Zoe Van Dorn (No. 2), Grace Knake and Addy Louagie (No. 3), and Carmen Rojewski and Allison Drzal (No. 4) also brought home championships, completing a clean sweep for the Trojans.
Meanwhile, the East Lansing girls soccer team found success of their own, defeating Grand Ledge in the CAAC Silver Cup final. Grace Refior led the charge with two goals, while Eliana Rojas contributed two assists. Goalkeeper Hazel Hatfield made five saves to secure the win for the Trojans (8-6-3).
In other action, Dansville's Cadence and Caroline Seibert each scored twice in a nonleague victory. Caroline Seibert also added an assist, and Annabele Braman chipped in with a goal and an assist to round out the scoring for the Aggies.
