Apr. 21—Austin scored six runs in the first two innings as the Black Bears picked up a big 9-4 area win over Florence in softball action on Monday.
Liann Sanchez led the way, driving in three runs on two hits.
Arden Breedlove finished with two hits, including a home run, and an RBI. Charlie Barnes had a hit and two RBIs. Marissa Adams got the win in the circle, allowing eight hits and four runs.
Falkville 15, Tanner 0: Peyton Holloway homered and finished with three hits and five RBIs in a big win for Falkville.
Carley Powers added three hits and two RBIs, while Maggie Holbrooks drove in two runs on an inside-the-park home run.
Lawrence County 13, East Lawrence 3: Bella Cross had a strong day in the circle for the Red Devils, allowing four hits and three runs with 10 strikeouts in the win.
Cross also had two hits and an RBI at the plate, while LA Norwood had a hit and three RBIs.

Austin 4, North Jackson 0: Paxton Branum pitched a complete-game shutout on the mound, allowing two hits with eight strikeouts.
