Franklin's softball team put on a power-hitting clinic in their Division III tournament opener, crushing five home runs en route to a dominant 13-2 victory over Chaminade Julienne on Thursday, May 14.

The big blast came from Adrian Allen, who launched a grand slam in the fifth inning to end the game early for the Wildcats. But Allen's heroics didn't stop there—she also etched her name into the Franklin record books, setting new school marks for career home runs and career RBIs in the process.

She wasn't alone in the long-ball parade. Heidi Brooks, Peyton Everitt, Kydee Shults, and Meredith Zehring all went deep, with Zehring celebrating her 100th career hit. For good measure, this marks the second straight season Franklin has sent CJ packing in the opening round.

The Wildcats improved to 15-13 and will face Sidney on Tuesday, May 19, while CJ finishes the season at 10-8.

In other diamond action, Northmont kept rolling with a 12-2 win over Wayne, winning their seventh game in eight tries. Jayden Snyder drove in three runs, while Chase Fuduloff added two hits and two RBIs.

Badin continued their scorching stretch, topping Springboro 4-1 to improve to 20-3. Austin Vangen knocked in two runs, and Carson Lowe earned the win in relief. The Rams, winners of 16 straight, now set their sights on a matchup against Centerville at Great American Ball Park on Saturday, May 16.

Carroll blanked Xenia 2-0 behind a stellar performance from Aaron McGlothen, who struck out 12 in a complete-game shutout on senior night. Joseph Weston provided the offense with a two-run double.

Chaminade Julienne bounced back with a 4-0 shutout of Piqua, as Isaac Sullivan fanned 15 batters in a complete-game gem. Harris Vogelgesang doubled and drove in two runs to support the effort.

Butler erupted for a 17-0 win over Greenville, with Jackson Schilling and Carson Heis each collecting three hits and five RBIs. The Aviators improved to 21-4.

Sidney took down Indian Lake 8-2, as Draven Ferguson and Brooks Taylor each drove in two runs. Jordan Shipe struck out eight in a complete-game victory.

Tecumseh made it five straight wins, defeating Northeastern 8-3. Reid Olinger drove in two runs on two hits, while Carter Olinger crossed the plate three times.

Middletown Madison overwhelmed Purcell Marian 21-5 in a Reds Futures High School Showcase game, with Carson Cresong earning PNC Bank MVP honors after striking out 10.

Brookville topped Franklin Monroe 12-5, powered by Lucas Horn and Blake Sprada, who each drove in three runs.

Ross celebrated senior night with an 8-2 win over Kings, highlighted by a home run from Griffin Mueller.

Eaton edged Coldwater 6-4, as Haydn Scott laced two doubles and drove in three runs.

Arcanum defeated Marion Local 5-2 behind a dominant effort from Regan Christ, who struck out 12 over seven innings while adding three hits and two runs scored at the plate.

Dixie rolled past Catholic Central 22-1, with Noah Thompson lining three doubles and finishing with five RBIs.

Mechanicsburg topped Riverside 8-1, as Conner Eyink doubled and led the offensive charge.
