Arsenal legend Robert Pires has weighed in on the Gunners' biggest dilemma: with both the Premier League and Champions League titles within reach, which one should come first?

As the season enters its final stretch, Arsenal find themselves in a position they haven't seen in two decades—genuinely competing for both of football's biggest prizes. Tuesday night's Champions League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid is deadlocked at 1-1, meaning a win at the Emirates would send the Gunners to their first European final since 2006. Meanwhile, in the Premier League, three victories from their remaining three matches would secure their first domestic crown since 2004.

For Pires, who won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups with Arsenal, the choice is clear. "The priority for Arsenal, today, is to win the Premier League," he told reporters ahead of the Atletico clash. "I don't know what's going to happen against Atletico, but, for the club, the most, most important thing is to win the Premier League."

The Frenchman highlighted the weight of recent near-misses, noting that Arsenal have finished second to Manchester City three times and to Liverpool once in recent years. "What they want, and the former Arsenal players want too, is to see Mikel Arteta and Martin Odegaard, the captain, lift the Premier League trophy."

But the Champions League dream is very much alive. A packed Emirates Stadium will roar on the Gunners as they seek to overcome Diego Simeone's notoriously stubborn Atletico side. Pires expects a cagey affair, predicting both teams will lean on their defensive strengths. "For both teams, it's complicated, very difficult," he explained. "We already know how both teams play—Atletico and Arsenal. Very defensive. And people can get upset, but I think playing like that is also a valid way. It's not easy and they both do it very well."

He contrasted the tactical battle with the free-flowing style of other European giants, adding, "You can't compare what PSG-Bayern was the other day. That's another way to play and I like both, because both are complicated to do on the field. Atletico is going to be complicated."

With history on the line and silverware in sight, Arsenal fans have every reason to dream big. Whether it's domestic glory or European triumph, these are exciting times for the red and white.
