As we settle into May, the 2026-27 Ohio State men's basketball roster is finally taking shape—and Buckeye fans have plenty to be excited about. While meaningful games are still over five months away, the transfer portal chaos has simmered down, giving us a clear picture of what head coach Jake Diebler will be working with next season.

Last year was a rollercoaster for Ohio State. After snapping a three-year NCAA Tournament drought with an at-large bid, the Buckeyes rode a late-season surge—winning four of their final six regular-season games, including ranked victories over Wisconsin and Purdue. But March Madness brought heartbreak: a stunning comeback against TCU fell just short, with a last-second loss ending their season in the first round.

This offseason brought major changes. The program bid farewell to all-time leading scorer Bruce Thornton and several other graduates. Three former Ohio Mr. Basketball winners—Gabe Cupps, Colin White, and Devin Royal—opted to transfer out. But Diebler and his staff (still filling one vacancy) have reloaded with four transfer portal additions and two freshmen from the 2026 recruiting class. While there's still a slim chance for another pickup before the season opener against BYU on November 2 in Salt Lake City, this group looks like the core we'll see on the court.
