Polymarket’s Soccer Spree Continues With Serie A Deal

It’s the third big soccer deal Polymarket has reached this year.

Polymarket is on a winning streak, and it's all about soccer. The prediction-market platform has just scored its third major partnership of the year, this time with Italy's Serie A. Following earlier deals with MLS and LaLiga, this latest move cements Polymarket's aggressive push into the world's most popular sport.

Under the exclusive multiyear agreement, Polymarket becomes the "official and exclusive" prediction-market partner of Serie A in the United States. This means the platform can now use official Serie A logos and marks, and will have access to real-time league data, with integrity monitor Genius Sports providing data services. The deal is a clear signal that Polymarket is serious about becoming the go-to destination for sports prediction trading in the U.S.

"We want to invest heavily in the U.S. market," says Ari Borod, Polymarket's president of sports business development. "There may be opportunities to do bigger deals in the future. Right now, it's the beginning of the partnership. You want to grow into these things, and we felt this was the right place to kick this off."

Borod, who joined Polymarket in February after serving as chief business officer at Fanatics, emphasizes the platform's commitment to building trust and credibility. "We want to build an ecosystem focused on a great product with integrity and all the safeguards you need. The best way to do that is to go to the rights holders, leagues, and governing bodies themselves to forge partnerships."

The timing couldn't be better. With the World Cup kicking off next month in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, Polymarket is positioning itself at the center of the action. "The world is coming to America for the World Cup," Borod notes. "If ever there was a time to invest in soccer, we feel like this is it."

Interestingly, Polymarket won't be the official prediction partner for the World Cup itself—that honor went to ADI Predictstreet, a company owned by the Abu Dhabi royal family. But with Serie A, MLS, and LaLiga in its portfolio, Polymarket is building a formidable soccer empire that fans and traders alike will want to watch closely.
